May 1-3 Dallas, Tx
DTS is introducing a key Brownfield Network Planning Paper at this conference. DTS will be an active participant with a booth at the conference and is looking forward to meeting attendees to discuss how DTS can assist with various pain points in the cable networks and businesses.
The conferences tag line “Leading Big Technology” was addressed with the 10G Panel moderated by Chris Bastian. Opinions were expressed by Jay Rolls of Charter Communications, Bob Ferreira of Intel, Ike Elliott of Cable-Labs and Tom Cloonan of CommScope. The 10G Platform is a industry initiative, announced earlier this year to increase consumer speeds to 10G symmetrically, with lower latency, greater security etc. It was obvious from questions fielded by the panel that introducing 10G will be an operational challenge and that there are uncertainties around features and the underpinning technologies.
Our thoughts about the Conference
The conference was well attended by chapter leaders and members. In only a couple of days the conference managed to engage chapters in exchange of information regarding dealing with addressing real current challenges faced by operators through several facilitated round table discussions. Also there were several opportunities to mingle and also to listen to key speakers. The panelists for the 10G panel such as Chris Bastian were all well respected and able opinion leaders. Jim Bearden, the motivational speaker at the conference, was captivating and brought light hearted humor to the event whilst providing key nuggets to help us all step us our game.
