Chris is broadband deployment and Broadband with a Purpose™ lead at Duke Tech Solutions. He has over thirty-five years of experience in architecting, designing and operating telecom networks. Most recently, Chris was the SVP and CTO at the Society of Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), where he led the SCTE Standards program, establishing standards and operating practices to design, grow, operate, and support broadband networks (www.scte.org/standards/).  He created training programs for a global workforce of 400K with 65 local chapters to address regional challenges. Led technology planning and execution for annual Cable-Tec Expo. (expo.scte.org). Chris launched the Explorer initiative in 2020, evaluating emerging services and technologies to directly benefit broadband customers. Working groups included telehealth, aging in place, smart cities, network and service reliability, and artificial intelligence. (www.scte.org/information-page-index/scte-explorer/). Prior to SCTE, Chris was employed at Comcast (15 years), the National Security Agency (10 years) and RCN (4 years), where he worked and led teams in all aspects of the telecom network lifecycle: architecture, design, engineering, operations, field support and training.
